In a major strategic step to achieve partnership between two international Islamic organizations: A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (ICCIA) and the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), with the aim of making a quantum leap in the field of developing and controlling the Halal industry in Islamic countries, to achieve sustainable economic growth, create job opportunities and enhance intra-trade, in addition to reaching aligned halal food standards along the supply chains to ensure the highest reliability of Halal certificates and the Halal label for consumers around the world.
The joint meeting of the Board of Directors and the thirty-sixth session of the General Assembly of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture was held on September 5, 2020, as E-Conference through the Internet.
The Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry & Agriculture (ICCIA) represented the Private Sector at the 2nd High Level United Nations Conference on South-South Cooperation – (Buenos Aires Plan of Action (BAPA+40) held in Buenos Aires on 20th to 22nd March 2019 and was given the single honor to make a statement on behalf of the Private Sector in the Opening Session.
