Business Development Analyst
Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture – ICCIA is looking for a Business Development Analyst for its Karachi Headquarters. Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
Background:
Islamic Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture – ICCIA is the largest representative of the private sector of 57 Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries with a population of over 1.9 billion, which uniquely positions ICCIA to work towards solving the most pertinent global challenges by engaging with the private sector. ICCIA visions its role as one where it becomes an engine for mobilizing investments, influencing policymaking related to the private sector and developing the representatives of the private sector and its representative chambers.
ICCIA has recently initiated the Business Development department which is planning to launch flagship initiatives focused on thematic areas; climate resilience, driving innovation and unlocking finance for SDGs and for that is planning to expand the Business Development team to develop and successfully implement the projects.
Business Development Analyst:
Under the direct supervision of the Business Development Manager, the business development analyst, will support in identifying and developing projects that are aligned with our priority areas in a way that supports long-term trading relationships, inclusive growth and longer-term economic development in the OIC countries. The position holder will be expected to work with external consultants to develop financial & technical proposals once project proposals have been approved by the Chambers. Lastly, the incumbent will work across multiple sectors and be expected to develop mutually beneficial relationships with business leaders, government officials in the selected regions of the OIC. This may include working with regulatory bodies as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- • Support the Business Development Manager and the Business Development team to initiate and implement budget revisions, drafting of partner agreement and amendment as required.
• Provide technical support to the Business Development team on planning, budget monitoring and implementation partner budget monitoring.
• Take the lead in devising project budgets and in providing financial analysis support to the design and formulation of project initiatives;
• Contribute to the preparation of budget/financial reports to donors, consistent with donors’ agreement and requirements;
• Facilitates partnerships and collaboration with external and internal counterparts in order to improve the exchange of data on implementation, particularly budget and financial elements.
• Prepare as well as manage and coordinate the process of donor reports including specific financial reports as required by donors.
• Monitor compliance to ensure key performance indicators, objectives and targets as per the programme design are met and achieved.
• Review and provide feedback to project work plans and budgets, implementation partner agreements, partner agreement amendments, and partner budgets;
• Coordinate and ensure alignment of project budgets with logical framework matrices, work plans, donor agreements and partner agreements;
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of the required financial reports and expenditure analysis;
• Participates in teleconferences, meetings and periodic face-to-face meetings with partners and contributes by presenting financial reporting updates and insights.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- • Bachelor’s degree in public policy research, development studies, international development, economics, social sciences, financial management or any other relevant area.
• 2 years of relevant experience in evaluating and developing financial proposals, experience in financial due diligence, particularly working with development projects.
• Proficient command on Microsoft Project Management Software
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Excellent organizational and self-management skills to respond effectively to tight – and changing – deadlines and priorities;
• The ability to learn quickly and work with a high degree of autonomy;
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• A positive “can-do” attitude that can see a way through challenges.
• Open to travel
Language requirements: Fluent English
Candidates having a master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
