ICCD is honored to announce the convening of the 35th Meeting of its Board of Directors took place on July 17-18, 2023, in Baku, the Republic of Azerbaijan, with a tightly packed program focused on fostering collaboration and driving progress forward, and in the presence of chambers’ presidents and member states’ representatives, who shared their insightful visions and innovative ideas, shaping the promising economic future for the entire Islamic nation.
Paving the way for a brighter future powered by technology and innovation, ICCD participated as a media partner in the world’s premier tech event “GITEX Africa”, held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI from May 31 to June 2, 2023, in Marrakesh, Morocco, pioneering the next era of technological innovations and propelling economic growth across the region.
In the midst of the strenuous efforts to promote the economic and social development of OIC member countries, and under the patronage of the Minister of Commerce and Acting Minister of Media of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, a ceremony has been held to launch “Manafee” Partnership between the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, Makkah and Madina chambers, on Wednesday, the 28th of December 2022, at Makkah Chamber for Exhibitions and Events Center, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in the presence of the Presidents and high-level representatives from the member chambers and relevant international institutions and organizations.
In the light of the Mauritanian government’s support for ICCD’s efforts to advance economic development in Mauritania and the African continent, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania received H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott.
In conjunction with the growing global interest in the concept of microfinance, and under the auspices of the First Lady of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, ICCD organized its regional forum “Microfinance in Africa: Promising Opportunities and an Innovative Model”, was held in partnership with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Children and Family of Mauritania, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania (CCIAM), AlBaraka Forum for Islamic Economy and ICCD Training Academy, on Monday and Tuesday, December 19 – 20, 2022, in Nouakchott, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
