Global Muslim Business Forum 2025: A Significant Step Toward an Ethical, Innovative, and Sustainable Economic Future

The Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), in partnership with the KSI Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific, the World Digital Chamber, and Global One, organized the Global Muslim Business Forum 2025 (GMBF 2025); an international gathering took place on 8 December 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, under the theme: “Empowering the Future: Innovation, Investment, and Sustainable Growth in the Muslim World”. 

GMBF 2025 serves as a unifying platform, bringing together government leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders from across OIC and beyond, to advance concrete, values-driven collaboration. At its core, the Forum seeks to bridge economies, catalyze ethical investment, amplify Islamic knowledge, accelerate the green transition, and ensure inclusive prosperity across the Islamic World.

This forum gathered leading experts in the Islamic economy to foster global collaboration and drive innovation. Participants engaged in a well-packed program featuring strategic networking, high-level panel discussions, and actionable insights into key thematic areas, including Islamic finance and ethical banking, women and youth economic empowerment, and sustainable investment, while exploring impactful pathways to strengthen partnerships, scale capacity, and mobilize impact-driven capital.

Dr. Wael Eldesouki Bedda, Secretary General of Saleh Kamel Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Enterprise Development Organization (SKSEED), delivered ICCD’s opening remarks, stating: “Today, we have an unprecedented opportunity to strengthen cooperation, investment, and knowledge exchange across the Islamic world, and to harness the vast and rapidly growing Halal market as a key pillar of a prosperous economic future worldwide.” 

During his welcome remarks, Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Rawther, President, Global Muslim Business Forum (GMBF), stated: “Let me first begin by expressing our appreciation to the forum co-organizers, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, and Global One, for their strong partnership and unwavering support. Together they have helped build the forum into a meaningful platform for the Muslim world.” 

The forum was honored by the participation of H.E. Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan & Former Prime Minister, Pakistan, who highlighted the significance of fostering intra-OIC trade, stimulating investment partnerships, and building a connected Muslim economy, stating: “I extend my sincere appreciation to distinguished hosts and organizers for convening this important conference. Your dedication to promoting dialogue, cooperation, and shared progress across the Muslim world is truly commendable.”

In this regard, H.E. Neak Oknha Datuk Dr Othsman Hassan, Senior Minister in Charge of Special Mission (Islamic Affairs); Special Envoy of Cambodia to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Cambodia; and Supreme Council Member of the Muslim World League (MWL/RABITA), highlighted GMBF’s significance, indicating: “Global Muslim Business Forum is a real platform, where business leaders, policy makers and academics come together to exchange information, experience and share knowledge, empowering the future innovation, investment and sustainable development in the Muslim world.”

GMBF 2025 is an action-oriented international platform, designed to advance investment-ready projects, forge cross-border partnerships, and promote scalable business models that integrate financial viability with social and ethical purpose. It operates in alignment with ICCD’s institutional mandate to support sustainable economic cooperation across the Muslim business community, bringing together public and private stakeholders to address shared development priorities.
