ICCD Organizes BOE Egypt with the Participation on 10+ Arab & African Countries

In a firm step to support innovation and stimulate creativity, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) organized the first edition of the Best of Entrepreneurship Series in Egypt, under the theme “Entrepreneurship in Digital Transformation”, in partnership with the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (ICCD), on September 17, 2024, in Cairo, the Arab Republic of Egypt, paving the way for a new era of growth and innovation in entrepreneurship.

The event witnessed the presence of a distinguished group of ambassadors and high-level representatives from the embassies of Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Cambodia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Uganda, along with representatives of international organizations, governments officials, leaders of the Egyptian economy, and distinguished entrepreneurs, to highlight the strategies and initiatives supporting entrepreneurship in areas of technology, through a series of fruitful panel sessions that contribute to shaping a bright future for entrepreneurship in Egypt.

The event was inaugurated by H.E. Dr. Alaa Ezz, Secretary-General of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC), who delivered the opening speech on behalf of H.E. Mr. Ahmed Al-Wakeel, President of FEDCOC and Vice-President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), expressing his appreciation to ICCD’s endeavours to foster the private sector and propel economic development, stating: “I must commend the efforts of H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development, and the endeavours of the General Secretariat in implementing the ambitious ten-year program and contributing to the advancement of the Islamic nation”.

He also emphasized the significance of uniting efforts among the Islamic countries to support entrepreneurs in order to create new job opportunities and achieve economic development across the Islamic world.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, emphasized the significance of entrepreneurship as the driving engine for the private sector in Africa and the Islamic world.

In this regard, he emphasized the necessity of uniting efforts with FEDCOC to organize the upcoming editions of this event in Egypt and the African continent.

Entitled “Strategies to Support Entrepreneurship in the Age of Digital Transformation”, the first session commenced with the presence of prominent digital transformation leaders and representatives of governmental bodies in Egypt, aiming to shed light on the innovative strategies that aim to empower entrepreneurs in the digital age as well as enhance economic growth across the country.

From an international perspective, the second session addressed “The Role of International Organizations in Empowering Entrepreneurs”, by highlighting the strategies and initiatives adopted by international organizations to support entrepreneurship in areas of digital transformation in Egypt.

Celebrating the spirit of innovation and creativity, the focus of the third session was on sharing inspiring models and outstanding success stories of entrepreneurs in digital transformation, with the aim of leveraging successful experiences in entrepreneurship and shaping a more prosperous economic future in Egypt.

In an effort to encourage creativity and excellence in technological fields, the event witnessed the launch of ICCD’s Digital Transformation Competition, which aims at supporting entrepreneurs in the technological sectors and motivating them towards innovation and growth, especially in areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Best Entrepreneurship Series in Egypt serves as a beacon for innovation and progress, laying the foundation for a thriving entrepreneurial future and shaping a flourishing economy in the Arab Republic of Egypt. This reflects the steadfast dedication of ICCD to promoting economic development and supporting progress across the Islamic business community.
