Jakarta, Indonesia
4th of February, 2026

Reaffirming its steadfast dedication to advancing the global Islamic economy, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce & Development (ICCD) convened the Indonesia–B57+ Multilateral Business Roundtable, titled “Integrating Markets Through Enhanced Connectivity, Trade, and Investment in the Islamic World,” in partnership with the Indonesian Business Council (IBC).

The roundtable was held on the sidelines of the Indonesia Economic Summit (IES 2026), where ICCD participated as a Platinum Sponsor, on 3–4 February 2026, at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta.

This high-level dialogue brought together policymakers, government officials, ambassadors, decision-makers, and global thought leaders to transform strategic visions into actionable outcomes. Discussions focused on aligning business ecosystems, establishing resilient market connections, and creating new avenues for trade and investment through Islamic finance, innovation, and SMEs empowerment worldwide.

Discussions centered on identifying key sectors in Indonesia that could boost exports and strengthen integration within Islamic markets. The dialogue also explored strategies to improve connectivity and supply chains under ICCD’s B57+ Initiative, while emphasizing evidence-based policy recommendations to promote cross-border trade.

During his insightful remarks at the roundtable, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), highlighted the significant role of B57+ Group in bridging policy and private enterprise to drive inclusive growth across Islamic economies, indicating: “What B57+ should bring to the table is the enhancement of government policies and regulations to ensure they empower the private sector in the Islamic countries to help achieve greater economic outcomes.”

The event was graced with the esteemed participation of H.E. Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, who underscored the importance of the halal economy in driving Indonesia’s economic growth and responding to the needs of the business community, and stated: “Indonesia is not just a player in the global Islamic economy; we aspire to be partners connecting markets, facilitating investment, and opening up new opportunities for shared prosperity across the Islamic nations and the global community at large.”

In this regard, H.E. Mr. Yousef Hassan Khalawi, Secretary General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), emphasized that B57+’s core mission is connectivity, transforming markets into a unified ecosystem where investment, finance, and trade flow seamlessly across borders for shared prosperity, stating: “When it comes to the B57+ Group, its primary focus is on connectivity, a priority that ICCD has been actively advancing in recent years to foster business collaboration through investment, finance, trade, and more.”

Additionally, H.E. Mr. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Indonesian Business Council (IBC) emphasized that the B57+ Asia-Pacific Regional Chapter is designed as an inclusive, practical, and execution-oriented business platform for all economic actors: “B57+ is a business platform bringing together private sector leaders, to strengthen trade, investment, and economic collaboration across Islamic markets worldwide.”

The roundtable witnessed high-level perspectives on the significant role of the B57+ Group in fostering economic growth across the Islamic world, concluding with commitments to advance sector-specific partnership frameworks and fast-track regulatory reforms that support seamless trade across the Islamic markets.

It is worth noting that the B57+ Group established the B57+ Asia-Pacific chapter through a landmark moment at IES 2026, when H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), handed the B57+ Asia-Pacific declaration to H.E. Mr. Arsjad Rasjid, Chairman of the Indonesian Business Council, aims to strengthen economic connectivity among Islamic countries and their strategic partners, positioning Indonesia as a key hub for cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

As a key pillar of ICCD’s flagship B57+ Group, this chapter aims to position the Asia-Pacific region as a dynamic hub for Islamic economic integration, fostering trade, investment, and cross-border collaboration to drive shared prosperity across OIC member states and global partners.

The Indonesia–B57+ Multilateral Business Roundtable underscores ICCD’s ongoing mission to build a cohesive, resilient, and inclusive economic ecosystem across the 57 Islamic countries.
