Under the Royal Patronage, the Invest in the Digital Economy Forum Reshapes the Future of Digital Transformation Worldwide

Under the gracious patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development and Jordan Chamber of Commerce organized the second edition of the Invest in Digital Economy Forum, themed “Digital Transformation for a Global Sustainable Economy”, on September 22, 2025, in Amman, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, with participation from private sector leaders from over 16 countries, paving the way for a new era in global digital development. 

The Forum kicked off in the presence of the esteemed presence of His Majesty’s representative, H.E. Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, alongside a distinguished gathering of decision-makers and high-level government officials, including the Jordanian Ministers of Investment and Health, as well as the Federal Minister of Investment in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Leaders and decision-makers engaged in a high-level strategic dialogue aiming at exploring new avenues for digital transformation, supporting the private sector and entrepreneurship in areas of technology and innovation, enhancing promising investment opportunities in digital economy spheres, and building strong international partnerships to develop advanced digital infrastructure that keeps pace with global changes, contributing to driving a sustainable economy that unleashes the potential of peoples and elevates the region’s position on the global digital economy map.

The forum serves as an interactive international platform, featuring a series of fruitful panel discussions and presentations. The program provides an opportunity to discuss the latest pioneering innovations and exchange technical expertise, contributing to driving digital economy globally, and reflecting the forum’s significance as a hub of knowledge and investment opportunities.

During his opening speech, H.E. Senator Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq, Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the Invest in Digital Economy Forum represents a pivotal milestone in the digital transformation journey, and a unique opportunity to transform innovative visions and strategies into tangible achievements, stating: “This Forum is not just a platform for discussion and exchanging experiences; it is a tangible space for building strategic partnerships, shaping knowledge and technology-based economic collaborations, and transforming challenges into real opportunities”. 

Out of ICCD’s pioneering role as the voice of the private sector in the Islamic world, H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), highlighted the importance of hard work and international collaboration in building a prosperous economic future, stating: “Today, we gather to reaffirm our commitment to shaping the prosperous future. With hope, confidence, and a deep sense of responsibility, we are dedicated to our mission. This reflects our true hope for a brighter future, our complete faith in the capabilities of future generations, and our strong responsibility to forge a promising tomorrow”. 

In light of the vital role of governments in enhancing the digital economy globally, the Forum welcomed H.E. Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and H.E. Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister of Investment, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in a high-level ministerial session aiming at spotlighting government strategies and initiatives supporting digital transformation, discussing related challenges and opportunities, and reviewing the public sector’s role in accelerating digital transformation.

In this context, H.E. Eng. Sami Smeirat, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, emphasized that investment in technology is a fundamental pillar for achieving desired growth across various sectors, affirming: “Investing in the technology sector has become indispensable. No economy can move forward without technology, which is one of the most crucial enablers”. 

Meanwhile, H.E. Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Federal Minister of Investment, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, emphasized the pivotal role of digital transformation in driving economic growth, stating: “Driven by promising youth and a strong emphasis on digital transformation, the digital economy is unlocking new avenues for global entrepreneurial growth”. 

The forum witnessed numerous fruitful panel discussion that focused on the importance of digital transformation in building more resilient and advanced economies, through specialized discussions that brought together experts and decision-makers, to explore future avenues and outline a roadmap for enhancing innovation and knowledge-driven economic growth. 

The Invest in the Digital Economy Forum is part of ICCD’s efforts to drive sustainable development in Muslim business communities worldwide, enabling them to keep pace with technological transformations and enhance their presence and standing on the global economic map. 

In this regard, ICCD reaffirms its commitment to advancing its efforts aiming at supporting digital transformation within the private sector institutions, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship, and strengthening regional and international partnerships, striving to build a sustainable economic future that reflects the aspirations of Muslim communities and enhances their global competitiveness globally.
