Successful conclusion of of Global Halal Brazil Forum 2021

        Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the first and largest Halal Forum in Brazil “Global Halal Brazil Forum 2021”, in which ICCD participated as a Supporter. The Forum had been held for three days, from Monday, December 6 to Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at the Renaissance Hotel- Sao Paulo- Brazil, with the sponsorship of Arab- Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and Fambras Halal.

         The Forum included a selection of key government officials, businessmen and economic experts from around the world. H.E. Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, President of ICCD, was one of the most prominent participants in the opening session of the Forum, he highlighted the importance of adopting a clear vision for the provision of halal products, based on two main axes. The first: Halal is an integrated industry & interconnected economic system, the second: It’s a business based on a moral vision, which makes it a demand of several consumers, not only Muslims.

 

        At the second day of the Forum, Eng. Ashraf El Tanbouly, CEO at Islamic Chamber Halal Certification Services (ICHCS), was among ICCD`s participants, he participated in a panel session entitled “Digitalization and Blockchain: The New Frontier For The Global Halal Industry”, in which he highlighted that Halal products are not limited to food & beverages, but extend to include medicine, cosmetics, financial services, tourism and many other sectors, praising the huge development of halal industry in recent years.

          Moreover, Mr. Ibrahim Nabil, Content Development Coordinator at Al Baraka Forum, also participated in a panel session held at the third & last day of the Forum and tackled “Islamic Finance-How its Growth Contributes in the Improvement of the World Economy & Investment Perspectives in Halal in Brazil”. During the session, Mr. Ibrahim emphasized that Sukuk issuance has many successes around the world in financing national, regional, and international projects, highlighting that in recent years, Brazil has started to be interested in applying Islamic finance and banking.

 

            At the closing session, H.E. Mr. Yousef Khalawi, ICCD Secretary General, gave the closing remarks of “Global Halal Brazil Business Forum 2021”, pointing out that Halal is an ethical industry, so the whole world can benefit from its growth. In addition, he highlighted the importance of youth and entrepreneurs in the growth and expansion of Halal industry around the world.

         ICCD`s participation in “Global Halal Business Forum 2021” comes as part of its efforts towards promoting the culture of halal products all over the world, as well as encouraging and supporting steps taken by its member countries in areas of Halal and Islamic finance.
